Ademola Lookman’s potential move to Inter Milan this summer might not happen anytime soon, even though the 27-year-old has told Atalanta he wants to leave the club.
Lookman handed in a transfer request two weeks ago via a post he shared on his social media platforms, where he also accused Atalanta of not honoring their agreement.
According to Orazio Accomando, Sportmediaset transfer expert, negotiations between Atalanta and Inter Milan are at a standstill.
“Negotiations are currently frozen between Inter and Atalanta for Ademola Lookman,” Accomando posted on X.
“At the moment, Inter’s objective is to strengthen their midfield and defense.”
Inter Milan have sent two bids to Atalanta for Lookman, but both fell below the valuation of the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
Atalanta value Lookman in the region of €50 million at least, but Inter Milan’s bids have fallen below €45 million.
According to reports, Inter Milan are unwilling to improve their bid for the player with the hope that Atalanta will lower their asking price.
Ademola Lookman’s future remains uncertain, as he has been absent from Atalanta’s training in preparation for the new season.
