Lyon beat Wolfsburg to win Women’s Champions League (video)
On Sunday, August 30th French against Lyon beat Wolfsburg 3-1 to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League title.
Wolfsburg were favourites for the titles after eliminating Barcelona Femeni in the semifinals.
However, it was Lyon who would strike first through Eugenie Le Sommer in the 25th minute.
Saki Kumagai scored the second for Lyon in the 44th minute as they took a two-goal advantage to the halftime break.
In the 55th minute, Alexandra Popp pulled one back for Wolfsburg to make the ending tense.
Sara Bjoerk Gunnarsdottir would however seal the game for Lyon with a goal in the 88th minute.
