She also worked as a production manager for Late Night with David Letterman. She also worked in the same capacity for Bruce Willis and Neil Young’s episode of Saturday Night Live in 1989.

David Letterman was dating Merril Merkoe, a comic writer initially even though he was also seeing Regina Lasko at the time. When his relationship with Merril Merkoe crashed, he started his love affair with Regina in 1986.

They both dated for more than two decades before they got married in 2009 at the courthouse in Choteau, Montana. David Letterman announced to the audience that they had already gotten married on his show.

No less than did months after they got married, like a tsunami, a sex scandal that involved David Letterman rocked their union. It was revealed that David had sexual affairs with some of his workers then particularly one Stephanie Birkitt.

In 2005, it was also revealed that there was an attempt to kidnap Harry Letterman Regina and David Letterman’s son but the plan was revealed to the police by a relative of Kelly Austin, who told him after planning the kidnap.
