Lionel Messi returned to action for the Argentine senior national team in the early hours of Friday, October 9th.
This is the first time Messi would represent Argentina since he received a red card at the 2019 Copa America in Brazil.
Messi returned as captain for their first World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.
The game was decided by only one goal as Messi converted a penalty in the 13th minute.
