Argentine forward Lionel Messi set a record for Barcelona.
Messi set the record in Barcelona’s 2-2 draw at home to Valencia in a Spanish La Liga encounter played at the Camp Nou on Saturday, December 19th.
Valencia went in front but Messi would equalize for Barcelona.
He missed a penalty awarded but the rebound was crossed to him by Jordi Alba which he converted.
The goal meant Messi now has 643 official goals for Barcelona.
He ties the record held by Brazilian legend Pele for Santos for a single club
Despite the record Barcelona and Messi dropped another two points in the race for the La Liga title.
