Michele Rice: seven things to know about the daughter of Anne Rice and poet Stan Rice.

Michele Rice is still being talked about today not just because she is the daughter of two popular figures but due to the way she died at a very tender age. 

The beautiful daughter didn’t live up to the dream of either becoming a poet like her father or an author just like her mother. Perhaps she wanted to become something else but then her dreams were cut short. 

This post takes a brief look at the life of Michele Rice and what led to her death at such a young age. 

1. Michele Rice is from San Francisco

Michele Rice was born in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California in the United States. She was born on the 21st of September, 1966 and she grew up with the care and affection of her parents. 

2. She was the first and only daughter of Anne Rice and Stan Rice

Michele Rice was the only daughter of her parents. She was only the first child. However, Stan and Anne Rice went on to have another child years after the death of Michele

3. Michele Rice would have been 57 years old as of 2023.

Michele Rice died a few weeks before her birthday. She died when she was only five years old. She would have been 57 years old if she were to be alive today. 

4. She had a brother

The name of Michele Rice’s brother is Christopher. His death of birth is unknown but he was born after the death of Michele so both siblings don’t know each other. 

5. Michele Rice died of Granuleucytic Leukemia

Michele was diagnosed of granuloeucytic leukemia when she was five. Her sickness started when she returned from playing with her friends one summer afternoon in 1970. She told her mum that she was too tired to play when she returned. Her mum thought it was just normal child sickness but the situation became serious afterwards. 

A few blood tests were conducted on her and she was later admitted at the Stanford Children’s hospital in Berkeley, California. The result of the test showed that she had granuleucytic leukemia – a disease that most often has almost zero chances of survival. Michele Rice died on the 5th of August, 2023. 

6. Michele Rice was buried at Metairie Cemetery

Michele Rice, the daughter of Anne and Stan Rice was buried at the Metairie Cemetery which is located in New Orleans. She was buried at  Rice Family Mausoleum. 

7. Her parents are now dead as well

Michele Rice’s parents Anne and Stan Rice are now dead. Stan Rice died at the age of 60. He died on the 9th of December, 2022 inNew Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, USA. He was an author and he bagged a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing. He published 7 books (poetry) before he died. Stan Rice died of brain cancer. 

Anne died on 11 Dec 2021 (aged 80) at Rancho Mirage, Riverside County, California, USA. She was buried in the same place just like her husband and daughter. She was one of the most popular gothic novelists of her time. She was married to Stan for 41 years.
