Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie was the star performer on matchday 20 for Houston Dash as she helped her team secure an away victory.
Alozie who played as the second striker on the night lived up to the faith her coach, Sarah Lowdon had in her as she scored two beautiful goals.
The match aginst Gotham who currently occupy the third spot on the log of the United States National Women’s Super League was keenly contested in the first half as both sides tried to gain control of the game.
However, in added time of first half, Houston Dash broke the deadlock through Michelle Alozie who smacked the ball home from a beautiful interchange of play from the edge of Gotham’s box 18.
The second half started with the same momentum just like the first as the home side tried to equalize.
Super Falcons striker Ifeoma Onumonu came on as a second half substitute in a bid to increase the attacking threat for Gotham but the away side held on to their lead.
Gotham continued to mount pressure on Houston Dash leaving space behind as they sought for an equalizer.
However, the away side took advantage of the acres of space left behind as they doubled their lead in the 67th minute.
A long ball from deep found Michelle Alozie who squeezed past two defenders before looping the ball over Amanda Haught to get her second goal of the night.
