Napoli Social Media Executive Quit Job Over Osimhen TikTok Videos Saga!

A social media manager at Napoli has resigned from his position following the backlash that erupted after the TikTok that ridiculed Super Eagles player, Victor Osimhen surfaced online.

Social Media was agog last week when two TikTok videos posted on the official pages of Napoli made mockery of Osimhen after the player missed a second half penalty away at Bologna.

Osimhen, in reaction, deleted all Napoli-related pictures and videos from his Instagram page a day after the videos – which have now been taken down surfaced online.

Even though the club and the coach, Rudi Garcia have come out to state that there was no intention to ridicule Osimhen, the reaction online have geered towards tolge player being racially abused.

The resignation of the club’s social media executive, Alessio Fortino appears to be a one of the fall outs of the event.

Alessio put out a statement on his Instagram page confirming his resignation as he thanked Napoli for the opportunity to hold such position.

“Today, after 805 days, my professional adventure with SSC Naples ends. For many this job would be comparable to a dream, for me it was simple daily reality: a reality built on commitment and fueled by the constant desire to learn and play.”

“I cannot help but express my deepest gratitude to all the colleagues, collaborators, partners and supporters I’ve met along this long journey for making this experience so special.”

“Leaving the company with a baggage of great memories and an excitement for the new adventures that lie ahead. Thanks again for everything and see you soon! Alessio.”
