Music star Brymo parts ways with manager after 8 years

By Kalu Onyemaechi

Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, more popularly known as Brymo, has parted ways with his music manager Lanre Lawal after eight years of managing the vocalist’s career, according to The Cable Lifestyle.

In a statement released via his Instagram page on Wednesday night, Lawal disclosed that The Bail Music Company , his management agency, won’t be working for the 35-year-old Okokomaiko born afrobeat star.

He said the decision is a necessary one that will see both of them transition to the next phase of their professional careers.

Lawal also said their eight-year business relationship has helped in amplifying the voice and talent of the singer.

“This is to inform the general public that The Bail Music Company, under the leadership of Lanre Lawal, is no longer responsible for the management of Olawale Oloforo, popularly known as Brymo,” Lawal wrote.

“Over the last eight years as Brymo’s manager, we have built formidable relationships and partnerships with top music stakeholders in and outside Nigeria.

“Together, we have assisted in amplifying the strength and talents of the singer/songwriters (Brymo) through the smooth development and execution of projects that have grown the brand internationally.

“However, like every healthy relationship, there is a mutual decision to move on to the next stage of our professional journeys individually.

“We are proud of the years we worked together and find nothing more satisfying than to see Brymo reach the heights of his success.”

After leaving Now Muzik in 2009, Lawal started his independent platform when he launched Blarque Brotha Entertainment that grew into The Bail Music Company.

He teamed up with Brymo in 2015 — after the singer’s protracted dispute with Chocolate City, his former record label, was settled — to start an annual concert series called organised chaos.

Organised Chaos became a well-known annual concert series in Nigeria which has created a platform for alternative music and musicians to thrive.

As of 2021, the Bail Music Company houses several Nigerian talents that are pulling the weights of fame in the African music scene.

They include Banky W, Sunny Neji, Olamide, Adekunle Gold, Femi Leye, and Waje, among others.
