Newly-invited Super Eagles midfielder, Nathan Tella marked his first invitation to the national team with his first Bundesliga goal for Bayer Leverkusen.
The 24-year-old midefilder came in as a second half substitute but made an instant impact as he scored he fourth goal for his side.
Tella connected with a pass from Moroccan midfilder, Amine Adli in the box before burying the ball into the top right corner of Union Berlin’s goal.
The Britsh-born Nigerian last scored for Leverkusen in the team’s 2-1 away win at Molde in the Europa League last month.
The midfielder has been quite consistent in terms of apperances for Xabi Alonso’s side this season having played eleven times so far.
Nathan Tella is expected to join 22 other players in camp as Super Eagles begin preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tella will hope to make his debut for Nigeria when the Super take on Lesotho and Zimbabwe on the 16th and 19th of November respectively.
