Nigerian online football fans have expressed their delight over the new role of Super Eagles midfilder, Wilfred Ndidi at Leicester City.
The defensive midfielder has been one of the most impressive Nigerian players abroad this season for both and country.
Ndidi, known for his defensive abilities – his primary duty, has added some new spices to his game this season – goals and assists and that has got fans heaping praises on the 26-year-old midfielder.
The former Genk midfielder has registered three goals and three assists so far this season and the latest assist came on Wednesday night where he laid a pass for fellow countryman, Kelechi Iheanacho as the former Manchester City doubled Leicester City’s lead over Preston at the King Power Stadium.
Wilfred Ndidi’s advanced role in Leicester City’s set-up this season under new manager Enzo Maresca has been beneficial to the team as well as the player.
Leicester City play in a 4-3-3 set-up and Ndidi plays in one of the midfield roles alongside former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks and Winks Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
However, the Nigerian midfielders appears to play higher than the two others which probides him the freedom to play in the final third of the oppostion’s half especially when the Foxes are in transition.

Some fans have called the attention of Super Eagles manager, Jose Peseiro in a bid to give Ndidi the same role in the national team while Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika plays as the new deep midefilder (number 6).
Leicester City are currently 1st on the English Championship table with 27 points after 10 games.
