Ex-Eagles goalkeeper Ndubuisi Egbo makes history as first African to qualify club for UEFA Champions League

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and manager of Albanian club TF Tirana, Emmanuel Ndubisi Egbo has qualified his team for the UEFA Champions League, becoming the first African coach to qualify a team for UEFA’s top club competition.
In the Albanian top flight league over the weekend, Tirana defeated Flamutari 2-0 to earn a slot in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
The 46-year old was appointed manager of Tirana in December 2019, following the resignation of Julian Ahmtaj when the team was eighth on the table.
Egbo played as a goalkeeper most notably representing TF Tirana, winning three trophies. He also played for the Super Eagles, playing 12 matches and representing Nigeria in two AFCON tournaments in 2000 and 2002.
