Nigeria 5 Guinea 1: Flamingos advance to next stage of 2020 U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers

Nigeria’s U-17 Women’s national football team known as the Flamingos beat their counterparts from Guinea 5-1 in their first round second leg qualifier for the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup played at the Agege Soccer Temple Lagos State on Saturday, March 14th.

The goalscorers for the Flamingos were Rofiat Imuran in the 27th minute a brace from Taiwo Lawal in the 33rd and 40th minute. Alvine Dah-Zossu was also on target in the 86th minute before Chinyere Kalu wrapped up the scoring in the 90th minute.

The goalscorer for Guinea was Diallo Dede in the 86th minute.

With a 5-1 first leg victory, the Flamingos recorded an aggregate scoreline of 11-2 which sees them progress to the second round of the qualification series.

The Flamingos face a difficult foe in their counterparts from Ghana in the second round which is scheduled for May.
