Nigerian-born Zirkzee and Musiala who won the Champions League with Bayern Munich celebrate with giant trophy and medals

Getman giants Bayern Munich overcame Paris Saint Germain 1-0 on Sunday night to win a sixth Champions League title and the two players of Nigerian descent on their roster, Joshua Zirkzee and Jamal Musiala have taken to Social Media to celebrate the Bavarians’ victory.

Admittedly both players had limited participation in the march to Champions League triumph but nevertheless their inclusion in the squad merited winners’ medal for them.

Zirkzee came on for Ivan Perisic in the 3-1 defeat of Tottenham last December in England while Musiala was on the bench when the Bavarians whitewashed Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge and in the return leg which ended 4-1 at the Allianz Arena.

Both players where listed against Barcelona but it was only Zirkzee who made the bench against Lyon and in the final against PSG.

Zirkzee, whose full names is Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee, was born to parents of Nigeria origins although he’s confessed his wish to play for the country of his birth, Netherlands.

The 18-year-old made his Bayern Munich debut in the Champions League match against Tottenham back in December, and scored three goals in five Bundesliga outings.

Musiala, an attacking midfielder, was born in Germany to a Nigerian father and German mother but moved to England at a young age and has represented both England and Germany at youth international level.

Defender David Alaba is the third player of Nigerian descent in the Bayern Munich squad although he’s an established Austrian international.
