A Nigerian striker based in Belarus has been confirmed dead after growing in Lake Belae in the Pastavy district of Belarus.

The death of the striker was confirmed via the official Instagram page of his club, Vitebsk F.C on the 5th of June.

The post reads;

” Football club “Vitebsk” reports that on June 5, 2021 on Lake “White”, near the tourist base “Verasa”, the staff of OSVOD was found drowned Kelvin Odenigbo. We will publish all official information as we receive it. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the footballer, as well as to all the fans of the team.”

Kelvin Odenigbo joined the club on loan from NAF Rockets in March and he was used as a late substitute in the 5-0 win over F.C Smorgon on the 28th of May.

The striker had one assist with no goal in four appearances for Vitebsk before his death.
