Nigerians in rage as Buhari increases petrol pump price again! See reactions👇

Nigerians thought that they would wake up to a super Friday feeling but they were wrong! The President Buhari-led administration has given its citizens what can be termed as “Below the belt” punch with the increase of Petrol Price N172 to N212.

According to the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), the ex-depot price, price sold to marketers is N209.42 while the landing price is set at N189.61 per liter.

Recall that the NNPC had earlier denied claims of a potential increment of the Premium Motor Spirit. In a statement published by its Manager of Public Division Affairs, Kennie Obateru, the body refuted the claims and advised citizens against panic buying.

“Contrary to speculations of an imminent increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in the country, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has ruled out any increment in the ex-depot price of petrol in March 2021.”

“NNPC also cautioned petroleum products, marketers, not to engage in an arbitrary price increase or hoarding of petrol in order not to create artificial scarcity and unnecessary hardship for Nigerians.”

“The Corporation stated that it has enough stock of petrol to keep the nation well supplied for over 40 days and urged motorists to avoid panic buying.”

The increment is expected to have another toll of hardship on Nigerians majority of which are still struggling to afford basic needs which include food and shelter.
