Nigeria’s D’Tigers beat South Sudan 76-56 to start off 2021 FIBA Afrobasket qualifiers

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team D’Tigers started off their qualification series for the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket Championship in Kigali, Rwanda on Thursday, November 26th.

D’Tigers recorded a 76-56 win against South Sudan in their first group encounter in the series played on Thursday, November 26th.

They took the first quarter 22-17 and also the second quarter 24-12.

South Sudan stormed back to take the third quarter 20-15, but D’Tigers bounced back to take the fourth quarter  15-7.

It would turn out to be a comfortable win for D’Tigers in the end.

Caleb Agada boosted D’Tigers to the win with 16 points while Nyang Wek led South Sudan with 10 points.

Amaze Egekeze recorded 10 rebounds while Ike Iroegbu had eight assists in the victory for Nigeria.
