Nigeria’s Ime Udoka aims to bring Boston Celtics their 18th NBA title

There is news about former Nigerian-American professional basketball player Ime Udoka.

Udoka who represented the Nigeria national basketball team during his playing career was officially named the head coach of the Boston Celtics.

Ime Udoka is the 18th head coach in franchise history of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association.

He is the first Nigerian-born head coach in the NBA and is aiming to bring the Boston Celtics their first NBA title since 2008.

In his introductory press conference, Udoka said that by doing his part which is pushing his players and getting the best out of them every day the wait for Banner 18, won’t last much longer.

He said It’s an honor to be a part of the historic Celtics franchise.

“Coaching this talented roster and working alongside Brad makes it an ideal situation. I’d like to thank [Celtics Co-Owner Wyc Grousbeck, Co-Owner and Alternate Governor Steve Pagliuca, Brad, and Vice President of Player Development & Organizational Growth Allison Feaster] for entrusting me with this opportunity. I look forward to getting started right away.”
