Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan recorded their second away win of the season on match day 17 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Oluyole Warriors put the defeat to Nasarawa United behind them as they fought hard to secure maximum points in Kano.

Sodiq Ibrahim’s goal in the ninth minute made the difference for the visitors at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday evening.

In another result, Abia Warriors ended their five-game winless streak with a 1-0 win over another newcomer, Kun Khalifa.

Lawal Suraju scored the only goal of the match seven minutes from time to help the Umuahia-based club to their third win on the road this season.

Meanwhile, Enyimba picked up a 3-1 win over Kwara United in Aba, while league leaders, Nasarawa United, avoided defeat in Jos against Plateau United to remain top of the league with 31 points.

Rivers United, with two outstanding matches, are in second-place with a point off the leaders, while Ikorodu City, with an outstanding match, have 28 points heading into the festive period.
