Once Daddy Freeze trends on online, it is either because he has just given a new perspective on the “Tithes and Offerings”  subject or made a comment on a controversial subject.

However, this time, it is something different. A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has slammed Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze on radio and social media with an of N5m for allegedly committing adultery with a married woman named Benedicta Elechi.

Daddy Freeze was ordered to pay the fine to Mr Paul Odekina, the husband of the woman with whom he reportedly committed adultery with.

In a court document obtained by PUNCH News, which contains the ruling given on February 18, 2021, with suit no PHC/403MC/2012, Mrs Benedicta Nkemdilim Odekina is the Petitioner/Cross Respondent, while Mr Paul Odekina is 1st Respondent/Cross Petitioner and Ifedayo Olarinde (Freeze) is the Co-Respondent to Petition/Cross Respondent.

According to the ruling of the Presiding Judge, Hon Justice Akpughunum, Daddy Freeze is to pay the sum of N5m as “damages for depriving Odekina amiable consort of his wife”.

“The sum of N5,000,000 is awarded against Ifedayo Olarinde as damages for depriving the cross petitioner of the amiable consort of his wife and for an injury suffered as a result of his adultery with the petitioner/cross respondent.”

The Judge also went ahead to dissolve the marriage between Mr Odekina and Mrs Benedicta as a result of her affair with Daddy Freeze.

Also, Mr Odekina was given custody of the children after their marriage was dissolved and she is to hand over the passports and birth certificates of the children to him to the ruling.

“An order of Decree Nisi is hereby granted, dissolving the marriage contracted between Paul Ochenu Odekina and Benedicta Nkemdilim Elechi-Agunabo on 26/1/2002 at the Chaplaincy of the Holy Rosary CIWA at Port Harcourt on the ground that the marriage has been broken down irretrievably because of the petitioner/ cross respondent having committed adultery and intolerable behaviour of the petitioner/cross respondent which the respondent cannot be expected to live with the petitioner/cross respondent, ”

While reacting to the development, Daddy Freeze who spoke with a new correspondent revealed that he will publish a statement at the right time.

” I will release a statement on my Instagram handle in due time, not today, but in due time. There are things that I want to ensure that I have proper information on before I release my statement.”
