Osimhen Expresses Disappointment as Galatasaray Escape Juventus’ Remontada

Victor Osimhen has expressed his displeasure at Galatasaray’s performance against Juventus in the second leg of the round of 16 playoffs in Turin on Wednesday night.

Osimhen said the team must improve if they are to go far in the tournament after qualifying for the round of sixteen.

Despite having a three-goal advantage from the first leg and a man advantage at a point in the tie, the Turkish champions were a shadow of themselves as Juventus erased the deficit to drag the tie into extra time.

“I have to be honest with you, I am disappointed with the performance of the team, the whole team. Kudos to Juventus for the kind of performance they put on display. We have qualified but we must improve in the next round when we take on the top dawgs. The performance tonight was not good, Juventus deserves to win but I am happy we (Galatasaray) qualified.

The Galatasaray striker shared his thoughts in a post-match conference after scoring in the 3-2 loss to the Old Lady in Turin.

Osimhen reached his seventh goal in his eighth Champions League appearance this season and he’s now the non-European highest goal scorer for Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Galatasaray will take on one of Liverpool or Tottenham in the round of 16 pairings on Friday afternoon.

Osimhen wrapped up the night with the Man of the Match award – his fourth so far this season.
