Manchester United’s legendary defender, Rio Ferdinand, has told the club to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.
Ferdinand says even though Osimhen has no Premier League experience, he scores goals everywhere he goes and will be the right option for the club.
He also added that the Super Eagles striker will show the young strikers, Hojlund and Zirkzee, how to score goals.
The six-time Premier League champion made these remarks in a recent podcast.
We need Osimhen. We need experience, someone who knows how to score, and someone who can come and show these young strikers at Man Utd how to do it.
“If I’m Man Utd, I’m making it happen. I want someone who knows their way around the football pitch at the elite level and knows how to score at the elite level consistently. Osimhen done that. I want here and now.
Yes, Osimhen hasn’t played in the Premier League, but I don’t care. I think he scores wherever he goes.”
Osimhen is enjoying a fantastic debut season at Galatasaray with goals and assists for the reigning Turkish champions.
The 25-year-old goal poacher is on course to win the league’s golden boot and is also a contender to be named player of the season given his level of consistency. Victor Osimhen has 28 goals and 5 assists in 32 matches for Galatasaray.
Victor Osimhen’s current release clause is set at €75 million, and is very likely to leave his parent club – Napoli this summer.
Manchester United have also been linked to Sporting Lisbon’s striker Viktor Gyokores having worked with current manager Ruben Amorim at the club.
Viktor Gyokeres is also enjoying a brilliant season with Sporting Lisbon, with 41 goals, 7 assists in 38 matches for Sporting Lisbon so far.
The Swedish striker also has the same price tag as Osimhen as Manchester United look to solve their misfortunes in front of goal.
