Napoli have announced that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will miss some of their upcoming games due to a thigh injury.
The Neapolitans announced on Friday that the 23-year-old injured his femoral bicep in his right thigh on Wednesday night.
Osimhen, who had previously been ruled out of Napoli’s opening UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool, was surprisingly named to the starting lineup on the night.
The ex-Lille player played only forty-three minutes before being replaced by Simeone after losing a penalty kick. Napoli eventually prevailed 4-1.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is unlikely to return until after the international break in October. This means he will miss the Gli Azzurri’s Serie A match against Spezia.
He is also unlikely to play in Napoli’s UEFA Champions League match against Glasgow Rangers or the high-profile Serie A match against AC Milan.
