Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has won the UEFA Champions League goal of the week accolade for his header in the win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16 second leg.
The Partenopei defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 on Wednesday, March 15 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen jumped high to head
in Matteo Politano’s cross in the (45+2) minute to score the aforementioned goal which was the first of his two goals in the match.
Piotr Zielinski scored the third goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 64th minute.
The top four goals of the week were unveiled on the Champions League Instagram handle.
Kevin De Bruyne’s long range effort in Manchester City’s 7-0 win over RB Leipzig was adjudged the second best Champions League goal of the week, IIkay Gundogan’s goal for Manchester City in the same game was the third best goal and Karim Benzema’s lone strike in Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Liverpool was selected as the fourth best goal.
Osimhen has scored four goals in five Champions League games this season.
Napoli will play AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg on April 12 at the San Siro Stadium and the second leg will be played on April 18 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
