OTD in 2004, Carlos Tevez scores winner as Argentina beats Paraguay 1-0 to win men’s football gold medal at Olympics Games (video)
On August 28th, 2004, Argentina beat Paraguay 1-0 in an all-South American final at the men’s football gold medal at Olympics Games.
The game was billed to be between two of the best teams at the competition.
The only goal of the game was scored in the 18th minute through Carlos Tevez.
That would be the only strike of the game with no goals scored in the second half.
Argentina would hold on to win the game and be crowned winners in front of 41,116 fans in attendance at the Olympic Stadium in Athens.
