It was Jose Mourinho’s first season at the Manchester United and expectations were as high as Mount Everest given that the Portuguese manager is not just one of the best but a proven winner.

Manchester United had a pretty smooth run en route to their maiden Uefa Europa League final defeating the likes of Feyenoord, Anderlecht, Celts Vigo.

On this day, the Red Devils defeated Dutch side: Ajax Amsterdam 2-0 at the Friends Arena in Solna, Stockholm, Sweden courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mhikhtaryan.
