Anthony Joshua was meant to take on undefeated Jarell Miller in a title defense match but the latter failed a drug test then Andy Ruiz jr – a relatively unknown Mexican showed up.
The odds were definitely not in his favour, in fact it was a 15/1 odds for him to knock out. Anthony Joshua came in as the overwhelming favourites having defeated the likes of Vlamdmir Klitschko, Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker en route to the fight.
However, the unimaginable happened, after both boxers sized in each up in the first two rounds, some exchanges in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth rounds, with Joshua taking a deep cut in the third, Andy Ruiz jr shocked the world by knocking out Joshua in technical knockout in round seven.
