With about sixteen days to the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro appears to be at loggerheads with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Reports suggest that the Portuguese manager and the NFF are at disagreement over the number of players yo be taken to the tournament.
While Peseiro wants 25 players, the NFF are insisting that the coach takes 27.
According to CAF, teams can take up to 27 players to the tournament but only 23 players can be registered for each matchday.
Jose Peseiro, according to reports prefers to take 25 players for proper squad management while the NFF want the coach to have more options by taking two extra players.
Recall that the Peseiro also had a disagreement with his employs before releasing the provisional list of 40 players instead of 50 which the NFF proposed in accordance to CAF rules.
It remains to be seen how the disagreement will pan out as the Super Eagles prepare for the tournament in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Super Eagles are in group A alongside host Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
