A Police officer identified as Seargent Kabiru Isah has been rewarded for his honesty after he a returned a sum of N1.2m at an accident scene in Kano.
Sergeant Isha found the cash while he was “conducting scene analysis” immediately after the fatal accident occurred according to a statement by the police spokesperson in Kano, Haruna Abdullahi.
The statement also confirmed that the owner of the money died after he was knocked off from the motorbike he was riding on by a trailer along Kano Zaria road.
While returning the money to the family of the deceased, the Kano State commissioner of police, Sama’ila Dikko told other police officers to emulate the good gesture of Seargent Isah.
The managing director of Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Baffa Dan’agundi went on to reward Seargent Isah with a sum of N100,000.
