Qatar 2022 World Cup: I am confident we will qualify – Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr

Gernot Rohr said he’s confident that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will will qualify for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup even though the team have some tricky opponents to contend with.

The Super Eagles manager alluded to how the team qualified for the 2018 edition of the tournament ahead of the likes of Algeria, Cameroun and Zambia.

Rohr added that the Super Eagles will not underrate any of their opponents when the qualifiers begin.

He said;

We have to respect all three.

I think the group is tough, but we believe in our capabilities. Given that we qualified from the group of death for Russia 2018, we’re confident we can make it this time as well.

Liberia are a team that can’t be underestimated as we saw when we beat them in a friendly. As for Cape Verde, they have players of Portuguese & Brazilian origin, they can beat any team

Central African Republic are an unknown quantity for us making it more difficult.

The CAF zone is currently in the second round stage of the qualifying round and Super Eagles are grouped alongside Liberia, Cape Verde and Central Africa Republic in group C.

The top 10 teams from each of the groups will play a home and away format and the five winners will qualify for the World Cup.
