Rasheedat Ajibade Prays For Awoniyi As The Nottingham Forest Striker Goes Into Induced Coma

Super Falcons captain Raheedat Ajibade is leading prayers for the speedy recovery of Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who has just been placed in an induced coma after surgery for an injury.

Taiwo Awoniyi ruptured his intestine after colliding with the goalpost in an attempt to score a goal in Nottingham Forest’s two-all draw against Leicester City at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest confirmed that Awoniyi underwent surgery and is recovering well in a statement via its official X page on Tuesday.

However, several online sources report that the striker is now in an induced coma after the first phase of his surgery, and the rest of the procedure is set to be completed on Wednesday.

In a bid to calm the nerves of fans upon receiving the news, Raheedat Ajibade posted a couple of prayer lines on her X page as she wished Awoniyi a quick recovery.

She also encouraged others to say a word of prayer for the Nottingham Forest striker.

Our hearts are heavy as we hold Taiwo Awoniyi in our prayers. Just days ago, he shared his light and strength with us on the Rash 4 Christ podcast. Now, as he fights in this difficult moment, we stand with him and his family in faith and hope. God is with you, Taiwo. You’re not alone. Please say a prayer for Taiwo Awoniyi and his family.
