Real Madrid 2 Barcelona 0: Is Lionel Messi overrated?
Real Madrid defeated arch rivals Barcelona 2-0 in the 244th El Clasico played at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, March 1st.
After a goalless first half, Real Madrid will go on to dominate the second half.
Vinicius Junior scored in the 72nd minute while Mariano added the second in the 92nd minute as Real Madrid took all three points to go top of La Liga.
The Clasico has been split either way over the years and there is no cause for alarm. However, Argentine maestro Lionel Messi was supposed to be the star attraction but ended up putting out a pedestrian performance.
Messi had two shots on target and was disposed severally. He also covered the least amount of ground with little work rate.
He is the reigning FIFA Men’s Best Player however his epic meltdowns recently brings about the question if he is living based on previous glory.
Messi was the worst player on the pitch for Barcelona and as captain his performance showed in the collective result. Messi once led Barcelona to dominate Spain and Europe but it’s time to question at age 32 if he is now on overrated?
