
Rivers United have been handed a tough draw in their debut CAF Champions League group stage appearance.
The Nigerian side qualified for the group stage of the competition for the first time after a 3-2 victory over Black Bulls of Mozambique.
Coached by former Nigerian midfielder and coach Finidi George, the Pride of Rivers will contend with the reigning champions of the competition, Pyramids FC, in Group A.
The draw was conducted at the Supersports Studios on Monday, November 3rd in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Rivers United are also grouped alongside Morocco’s RS Berkane and Zambia’s Power Dynamos.
The competition starts on November 21, as Nigeria’s sole representative on the continent this season, hope to make an impressive outing in their first-ever appearance in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
