Cristiano Ronaldo has hit the ground running in the new year with yet another achievement in his glittering football career.
The Portuguese captain once again extended the conversation of who the greatest-ever footballer is as surpassed football legend, Pele on the all-time goalscorers chart.
The 35-year-old striker recorded his 758th goal in Juventus’ 4-1 win over Udinese at the Allianz Stadium. Ronaldo opened the floodgates of goals in the 31st minute with a left-footed strike before adding his second on the night in the 70th minute with another strike from his potent left foot.
Ronaldo has now surpassed Pele’s record of 757 goals and he is just one goal away from equalling Slavia Prague’s Josef Bican’s record of 759 official goals.
Juventus take on AC Milan, Sassuolo and Parma in their next few games and he will look to equal Bican’s record and also add more goals to his tally.
