Senegal and Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mane is set to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
According to L’Equipe, Mane sustained a tendon injury against Bremen and has been ruled out for several weeks. Bayern Munich won the game 6-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Mane got injured just about 12 days before the tournament starts on November 20.
Senegal qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup after defeating Egypt 3-1 on penalties after playing 1-1 on aggregate in the World Cup qualifying playoffs.
Mane has scored 33 goals in 92 games for Senegal. He has scored six goals and recorded two assists in 14 Bundesliga matches this season.
Senegal are in Group A with Qatar, Ecuador and the Netherlands.
This is Senegal’s third World Cup after previously qualifying for Korea/Japan 2002 and Russia 2018.
