Salah to auction jersey worn in 5-0 Man United pounding for animal charity in Egypt

Mohammed Salah has announced that he will be auctioning the jersey he wore against Manchester United at Old Trafford in October 24, 2021 which ended 0-5 in favour of Liverpool.

The Egyptian hattrick hero in that intriguing match took to his Twitter handle to announce this.

“I will be donating, for auction, the jersey I used in the match of 24 Oct. 2021 against Manchester United, with all proceeds of the auction to go to an animal charity in Egypt. I will let you know where and how to bid”, Salah tweeted.

This declaration has triggered mixed reactions from fans, rivals and neutrals.

“Kindness to animals is a duty to every human being”, a translation from Google suggests what Salah went on to tweet in Arabic.

Earlier in November 27, 2018, Mo Salah spoke out against plans in his home nation of Egypt to export stray animals abroad, amid fears they will be used for food.

“Cats and dogs will not be exported anywhere. This won’t happen and can’t happen,” Mo Salah tweeted, alongside images of his pet cats.

Animal rights activists reacted with anger over the decision, with many calling for the practice to end. Stray cats and dogs are widespread in Egypt’s streets.

Mo Salah’s forward thinking defence against the maltreatment of animals will no doubt win him even more fans in his homeland, where he still remains the darling of the nation.
