Nigerian striker Alimi Sikiru has returned to Remo Stars one season after he left the club for rivals, Shooting Stars. The 27-year-old striker left the Ikenne-based in the 2021-2022 season and scored just one goal in 9 appearances for the five-time Nigeria Premier League champions.
Remo Stars announced the return of Alimi Sikiru on their official Twitter page on Friday via a video post tagged “The Return, Sikiru Alimi”
The player was seen watching the goals he scored for the club in his first stint at the club via a tablet. He went on to shake hands with his former and new teammates before the end of the video.
According to reports, Sikiru Alimi is set to earn about N700,000k per month as he puts pen to paper for the club.
Sikiru Alimi scored 8 goals in 16 league appearances for Remo Stars before leaving for Shooting Stars. The former Lobi Stars striker had previously played for Tunisian side Stade Tunisien and Moroccan club Mahgreb Fez before his first season at Remo Stars.
Alimi is prolific on the continent as he scored 4 goals in 5 appearances for Lobi Stars in the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League season.
The striker will look to add goals and experience to coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s side as they prepare for the new season of the Nigeria Premier League as well as the CAF Champions League.
