Suarez nets landmark 500th goal in Alaves win
Luis Suarez hit a milestone in his career as he scored his 500th career goal when he netted the winner against Alaves in a nervy game on Sunday evening.
Kieran Tripper’s cross found the head of Suarez who nodded home in the 54th minute to give Atletico Madrid a slender victory.
It was the striker’s 19th goal in Laliga, second only to Lionel Messi.

The 34 year old has joined the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Lewandowski and Zlatan as the only five active players to hit the 500 mark.
He is also the first Uruguayan to achieve the landmark.
