Sudan Chase CHAN Eagles Out Of African Nations Championship After Massive Win

Super Eagles home-based team. the CHAN Eagles are out of the African Nations Championship after suffering an humiliating loss to Sudan.

The CHAN Eagles came into their second match with the home of getting a win after losing to defending champions, Senegal in their opening match.

However, Eric Chelle’s men were underwhelming as they fell to a four-nil loss to Sudan led by former captain and coach of Ghana, Kwesi Appiah.

The CHAN Eagles took the lead in the 22nd minute after Anthony Ijoma put the ball into the back of the net. Unfortunately, his goal was ruled for offside.

Three minutes later, Leonard Ngenge put the ball into his net to give Sudan the lead.

The Ikorodu City defender, with a minute left before the break fell a player in the box and gave Sudan a penalty. Walieldin Khidir stepped up and converted to double the lead.

Eric Chelle’s side struggled to create chances in the match despite dominanting possession and having 11 shots in the match.

Things got from bad to worse as Sudan increased their lead twice in six minutes in the second half as Abdelrazig Omer bagged a brace to seal the comprehensive victory over Nigeria.

The win sealed the CHAN Eagles fate as they crashed out of the competition after two matches with five goals conceded and none scored.
