Sultan of Sokoto laments! : This is what is affecting Nigerians more than Corona Virus!

As the Corona Virus continues to claim lives rapidly all over the World, a popular monarch in the country believes that there is something that is killing Nigerians far more than the Corona Virus.

The Sultan of Sokoto: Muhammad Abubakar III believes that people are going through difficult times because of hunger and it is ravaging so many lives especially in rural areas.

The Sultan of Sokoto made this known while speaking on the theme:Together, we can grow peace for the Nation,’ at an Inter-Religious meeting which also had Mr Boss Mustapha: Secretary to the Government in attendance.

The Sultan posits that: ” There is a very serious virus that is killing people much higher than coronavirus. That virus is hunger; there is hunger virus and it’s very serious. You need to go round the country into the villages, into the towns and see how people are really struggling to survive.”

The Sultan also dismissed claims of Christians being persecuted in the north, stressing that everybody irrespective of religion is being affected by terrorism.:

For me, there is no persecution of anybody in this country because if you say there is persecution of Christians, there is also persecution of Muslims but that will not solve the problem.”

Mr Boss Mustapha, in his remarks adviced that religious leaders shouldn’t make comments that will plunge the nation into crisis.
