Super Eagles Face Ronaldo’s Portugal, Lewandowski’s Poland in June friendlies

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will have quite an active summer, even though they won’t be at the World Cup in June.

Having played Iran and Jordan in the Match window of the FIFA window, the Super Eagles will be active in June.

The Super Eagles will take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and Poland between June 3 and 10.

Nigeria will take on Poland on June 3rd and Portugal on June 10th.

The official X handle of the Super Eagles announced the fixtures on Thursday afternoon.

Nigeria’s last meeting with Portugal ended in a 4-0 loss on November 17, 2022, in Lisbon.

However, Poland suffered a 1-0 loss to Nigeria on March 23, 2018, in Wroclaw. Moses Simon scored the only goal of the tie.

The friendly matches are expected to give emerging players in the Super Eagles the opportunity to cement their place in the team after the team failed to qualify for the World Cup.

They will also serve as preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series later in the year.
