Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye joins Sparta Rotterdam

Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has joined Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam on Monday, July 13th.

The Nigerian goalkeeper joins Sparta Rotterdam from German side Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Sparta announced that Okoye has joined on a two-year contract explaining details in a message on their official Twitter account which said, “Sparta Rotterdam has strengthened itself, with the exception of the medical examination, with Maduka Okoye. The Nigeria international signs for two seasons, with an option for two more seasons.”

Okoye took to his official Twitter account to celebrate his move with pictures and a message that said, “New Chapter in my Career. Happy to be part of the Sparta family!”

Sparta Rotterdam director Henk van Stee spoke well of Maduka in a statement which said,  “With Maduka we bring in a great talent.

“Who has a lot of potential. He was in the interest of several clubs from different countries, but he believes he can take the next step at Sparta. We believe he can be of value to this club and are happy that he signed here. ”
