Nigeria’s Super Eagles had a fantastic run as they won six of their seven matches in the tournament.
The three-time African champions beat Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt en route to clinching their record ninth bronze medal.
Previously ranked 38th in the world, the Super Eagles are now ranked 26th in the rankings released by the World Football-governing body, FIFA.
The rankings comes less than 24 hours after Senegal beat Morocco to win their second title in a chaotic Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat.
The Super Eagles are ranked 3rd behind Morocco and Senegal in the CAF rankings.
