Super Eagles’ Stanley Nwabali Opens Up On Next Club

Stanley Nwabali: Super Eagles Star Open to New Opportunities

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali confirms he is ready to join a new club, whether locally or abroad. Following his mutual contract termination with South African side Chippa United in February, the 29-year-old remains a free agent.

During a recent interview with Sports Night, the Nigerian shot-stopper emphasized his flexibility, stating he can play anywhere and remains open to any club of his choice.

“I can play anywhere I want to play; there is no restriction,” Nwabali said. “I am open to any club, local or international. Football deals with happiness, and my happiness comes first.”

“There are no calls yet. The only calls are from my family and friends, and people who are shocked at the news. “Nothing changed. In football, you wait for the right moment. You really need to enjoy where you are.”

Transfer rumors currently link Nwabali to several major teams, including Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship, South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs, Morocco’s Raja Club Athletic, and Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq.

The former Enyimba and Katsina United star boasts an impressive international record. He helped the Super Eagles secure silver and bronze medals at the 2023 and 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, respectively.

Just last month, Nwabali delivered a masterclass performance by saving spot-kicks from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, leading Nigeria to a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Egypt to clinch the AFCON bronze medal.
