Nigeria women’s national team, the Super Falcons will play Australian Queensland NPL Champions, Queensland Lions FC ahead of their FIFA Women’s World Cup opener.
The Super Falcons have been training for the past 10 days in Australia as they look to fine-tune preparations for the showpiece which is set start on the 2Oth of July.
The match between the Nigerian ladies and Queensland Lions FC will take place on Saturday July 15th.
Nigeria are grouped alongside Canada, Australia and debutants, the Republic of Ireland in Group B of the competition.
The Super Falcons will take on Canada in the opening match of their campaign at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on July 21st.
Nigeria has participated in all editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup since its inception in 1991 which was hosted by China.
A quarter-final place in 1999 has been Super Falcons best outing in the history of the competition after losing to Brazil 4-3 in extra-time.
Coach Randy Waldrum’s side will look to match or better still improve on the record as the Super Falcons look to become the first team African team to play in the semi-finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup
