Throwback: Filippo Inzaghi scores twice as AC Milan beats Liverpool 2-1 in 2007 Champions League Final (video)
On May 23rd, 2007 AC Milan beat Liverpool 2-1 to win the 2007 UEFA Champions League.
Two years earlier both teams were in the final as Liverpool came back from three goals down to eventually win on penalties.
This time an Andrea Pirlo deflected free-kick to Filippo Inzaghi gave AC Milan the lead in the 45th minute.
Inzaghi scored his second of the game in the 82nd minute from an assist by Kaka.
Liverpool pulled one back through Dirk Kuyt in the 89th minute but could not come back in front of 63, 000 fans at the Olympic Stadium, Athens.
