Nigeria’s newly-appointed Chief of Army Saff, General Ibrahim Attahiru has died in a plane crash at the Kaduna International Airport according to multiple sources.
The Chief of Army Staff and 11 other people beloved to his aides all died in the fatal crash.
The unfortunate incident happened at about 6 p.m local time on Friday evening.
Akin Olateru, Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria, confirmed the news to PUNCH.
“Beechcraft 350. 8 souls on board. Unfortunately all dead” according to Olateru.
The Nigerian military has witnessed three fatal crashes so far this year;
1. On 21 Feb, King Air 350 crashed near Abuja killing all 7 personnel;
2. On 31 Mar, NAF475 “went off the radar” with 2 crew members (which BH claimed);
3. Today, Beechcraft 350. crashed all passengers on board confirmed dead.
