OTD in 2019: USA beat the Netherlands 2-0 to win Women’s World Cup (video)
On July 7th, 2019 the United States of America (USA) beat the Netherlands 2-0 to win the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The USA were favourites to win the title after eliminating big names France and England in the previous knockout rounds.

The first half ended goalless but the breakthrough came in the 61st minute when Megan Rapinoe converted from a penalty spot.
The win was sealed in the 69th minute thanks to a left-footed strike from Rose Lavelle.
The USA held on to win back to back world titles in front of 57,900 fans at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, Décines-Charpieu.
