Victor Boniface, Tella Win Historic Bundesliga Title With Bayer Leverkusen

Super Eagles duo of Victor Boniface and Nathan have their names written in the history of Bayer Leverkusen as they emerge as German Bundesliga champions for the first time.

Bayer Leverkusen, led by former Liverpool legend, Xabi Alonso needed a win against Werder Bremen at home and they did it in grand style with five unreplied goals.

Victor Boniface put up a very impressive performance as he scored the opener and created the second for Granit Xhaka for the second.

Boniface put Bayer Leverkusen ahead on the 25th minute from the penalty spot after Jonas Hofmann was brought down in the box.

The Nigerian striker who started for the first time since his return from injury, calmly put the ball into the back of the net to give the home side the lead.

Werder Bremen held on but not for long as the goals started pouring in. Boniface found Granit Xhaka in space with a pass before the Swiss midfielder buried a sublime shot into goal from the edge of the box.
