John Mikel Obi is not classed as a skillful midfielder like his predecessors; Henry Nwosu, Jay Jay Okocha, Wilson Oruma but he’s highly revered considering his achievements with the national team.

Mikel Obi is one of many Nigerian players who grew from the cadet team and developed as a regular in the Super Eagles.

In a career that lasted for 17 years, Mikel Obi is considered one of the most decorated Nigerian players in history given the numbers of laurels he won at his club side, Chelsea as well as for Nigeria.

Some of Mikel Obi’s most admired attributes in the later stage of his career is his composure under pressure, defensive qualities, and accurate long-range passes.
